Football Recap: Cooper Skates Past St. John's with Ease

Cooper hadn't done well against St. John recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dragons blew past the Mavericks 34-6. Give the Dragons' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Eric Sipko, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two TDs.

Cooper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 244 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Cooper didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Pierson Todd led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Kaleb Smith is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Cooper pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 28.2 points thus far. As for St. John's, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
