Basketball Recap: Juarez Takes a Loss

Juarez lost against Little Village back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Juarez Eagles had to suffer through a 81-30 loss at the hands of the Little Village Phoenix. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Phoenix are ranked 249th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Little Village to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Pablo Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Juarez and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Little Village, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home.

Juarez has already played their next game (against Phoenix Military), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Little Village and Legal Prep will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
