Recap: Foley Lions vs. Navarre Raiders
The Foley Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 69-58 to Navarre. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (55), Foley still had to take the loss.
Navarre had a senior duo take command as Darius Cunningham dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds and Trey Brauns scored 22 points. The matchup was Cunningham's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Forrest, who scored 13 points.
Foley's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Navarre, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orange Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Orange Beach is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Navarre will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Niceville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Navarre likes a good challenge.
