Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Lumberjacks vs. Plumas Charter Warriors

The Westwood Lumberjacks will face off against the Plumas Charter Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Westwood easily dispatched Herlong on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Westwood fell just short of Princeton by a score of 53-50 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lumberjacks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Plumas Charter was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past CORE Butte 86-34. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Westwood better keep an eye on Dalton Bentz. He was instrumental in Plumas Charter's win, shooting 8-for-14 from long range and almost dropping a triple-double with 36 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bentz has scored at least a third of Plumas Charter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Joseph, who went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points along with six steals and five assists.

Plumas Charter's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.

Things could have been worse for Westwood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to Plumas Charter in their previous matchup two weeks ago.
