Liberty had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 3-6 to make it seven. They had just enough and edged out the Toms River North Mariners 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 21, 2024.

As for Toms River North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

For Toms River North's part, Pietro Amodio and Jason Verderrosa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Amodio went 2-for-5 with five RBI and one double, while Verderrosa got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Verderrosa also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Nick Daniele was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
