Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Trenton Trojans
Carlson is 10-0 against Trenton since March of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Carlson Marauders will head out on the road to face off against the Trenton Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Carlson has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Trenton will arrive with four straight victories.
Last Thursday, Carlson came up short against Lincoln Park and fell 57-49. While losing is never fun, Carlson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Lincoln Park is ranked 116th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brendan Stanley, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. He scored a full 36.7% of Carlson's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brody Lavis was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 assists.
Meanwhile, Trenton strolled past Grosse Ile with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-41.
Anderson's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Carlson's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.
Everything went Carlson's way against Trenton when the teams last played back in February as Carlson made off with a 71-48 victory. Does Carlson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trenton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
