Fort Ann's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kadence Cutter, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards, and Javier Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. That's the most rebounds Cutter has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Charpentier, who had ten points in addition to five assists and three steals.
Fort Ann smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lake George took a blow against Corinth on Friday, falling 69-40. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 792nd, while the Riverhawks are ranked 311th).
Fort Ann will have to contain Max Hohman as he made an impact in Lake George's last game. He almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Hohman has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Eli Brown was another key player, putting up two points along with ten boards and three steals.
Fort Ann's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8. As for Lake George, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fort Ann has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lake George struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fort Ann didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake George in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Does Fort Ann have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake George turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
