While Marshall's win against Nacogdoches wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mavericks had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won eight in a row.

Marshall took Nacogdoches into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 15-10.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 23-12. As for Nacogdoches, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-23 record this season.
