Football Recap: Caden Glover's Menacing Defense Leads Martin County over Dwyer

It was a proper cat-fight when Martin County duked it out with Dwyer on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Paul Hendrix had a dynamite game, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Martin County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Caden Glover was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four himself. Austin Godwin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Martin County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dwyer, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martin County will challenge Westwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Dwyer, they will face off against Royal Palm Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
