Southern Alamance won the last time they faced Person and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 42-18 margin over the Rockets. Considering the Patriots have won four games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Southern Alamance found their leader in sophomore Sincere Thompson, who rushed for 162 yards and three scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Thompson has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Jacob Alexander was another major influence, as he rushed for 81 yards and ran in a TD.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Southern Alamance proved: they limited Person to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Ryan Norris stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (5.0 for loss). Southern Alamance is a perfect 3-0 when they shut down the run game so well.
Southern Alamance's defense didn't let Willie Lunsford, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Brantley Messick and Zach Sutton, who racked up four sacks between them. Messick has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. Norris was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Person lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was John Elkerson, who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lunsford was another key player, throwing for 234 yards and two TDs.
Southern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points over those games. As for Person, their record is now 4-4.
Southern Alamance wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 57-24 victory against Cummings on the 24th. As for Person, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-18 loss against Southeast Alamance on the 24th.
