Basketball Game Preview: Danbury Lakers vs. Woodmore Wildcats

Danbury is 3-0 against Woodmore since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Danbury Lakers will head out on the road to face off against the Woodmore Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Danbury is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing New Riegel: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Danbury blew New Riegel out of the water with a 57-13 final score. The Lakers pushed the score to 54-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Jackets had no chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Woodmore had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Stockaders 63-22. With the Wildcats ahead 36-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Woodmore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Danbury, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Danbury was able to grind out a solid win over Woodmore in their previous meeting back in January, winning 53-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Danbury since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
