Basketball Recap: Coeur D'alene Takes Down Ranked Timberlake

On Friday, Coeur d'Alene faced Timberlake in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Coeur d'Alene Vikings rang in the new year with a 49-38 win over the Timberlake Tigers. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coeur d'Alene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brookeslee Colvin, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks. The matchup was Colvin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lexie Wheeler, who had 14 points and six rebounds.

The victory got Coeur d'Alene back to even at 7-7. As for Timberlake, with the defeat, they broke their 14-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coeur d'Alene will host Post Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timberlake, they will welcome Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
