Football Game Preview: Irvington Bulldogs vs. Rye Neck Panthers

If Irvington beats Rye Neck with 40 points on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bulldogs breezed past Woodlands to the tune of 40-6 on Saturday. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Meanwhile, Rye Neck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 35-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Byram Hills.

The win made it two in a row for Irvington and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Rye Neck, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Irvington suffered a grim 35-15 defeat to Rye Neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
