Nixa had won four straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 11-4 to make it five. They blew past the Jackson Fighting Indians 14-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

As for Jackson, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 2.56 runs allowed.

For Jackson's part, they got a good showing from Caleb Schlick, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Schlick has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Jackson saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Cash Rhodes, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Nixa has already played their next matchup (against Rock Bridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to take on Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
