Softball Recap: Argenta-Oreana Beats Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] for Their Fourth Straight Win

Argenta-Oreana came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans a 6-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Bombers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Elyssa Armstrong's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Argenta-Oreana let Brynn Jones and Kharma Giles run wild. Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Giles went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Giles has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Manning, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Argenta-Oreana pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Argenta-Oreana will venture away from home to square off against Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Maroons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something the Bombers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they will head out on the road to face off against Arcola at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
