Baseball Recap: Elkton's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Havre de Grace last Tuesday, Elkton came back down to earth. The Golden Elks took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rising Sun Tigers on Friday. The Golden Elks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Taino Jurry was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The defeat snapped Elkton's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2-1 record. As for Rising Sun, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

While Elkton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Monday.
