Softball Recap: Ellsworth Victorious

Ellsworth lost to Baldwin-Woodville on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Blackhawks.

Aliza Acker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Ellsworth let Aaliyah Huppert and Delaney Johnson run wild. Huppert went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Ellsworth's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Baldwin-Woodville, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Ellsworth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Somerset on the 29th. As for Baldwin-Woodville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-0 victory against Osceola on the 29th.
