Baseball Recap: McGuffey Takes a Loss

After flying high against Waynesburg Central on Tuesday, McGuffey came back down to earth. The Highlanders fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

McGuffey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Young, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Young has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

McGuffey's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Waynesburg Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McGuffey will face off against Bethlehem Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waynesburg Central, they will take on Keystone Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
