After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Paul, New London was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mansfield Christian Flames by a score of 7-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Olivia Yetter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
New London's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Mansfield Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
Looking ahead, New London is taking a road trip to take on Monroeville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mansfield Christian, they will host Hiland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.88 runs per game on average), something the Flames will no doubt try to take advantage of.
