Recap: Swink Lions vs. Crowley County Chargers
The Swink Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crowley County. Swink has not had much luck with Crowley County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jocelynn James, who scored 12 points. Hunter Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Swink's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Crowley County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swink will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Cheyenne Wells at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Cheyenne Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday. As for Crowley County, they will head out on the road to take on Las Animas at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Las Animas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 back in December of 2023.
