Basketball Recap: Elmwood Comes Up Short

Elmwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons.

Elmwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Looking ahead, Elmwood will take on Henry-Senachwine in a tournament on Friday. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Olympia at 3:30 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
