Basketball Game Preview: Kimberly Papermakers vs. Appleton West Terrors

Kimberly has gone a perfect 10-0 against Appleton West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Papermakers will challenge the Terrors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kimberly has nine straight wins, Appleton West has 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Kimberly strolled past Appleton North with points to spare, taking the game 49-33. Given the Papermakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Lightning are ranked 50th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ava Van Vonderen was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emily Urban, who had six points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Kimberly was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are a perfect 16-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Appleton West lost 60-40 to Kaukauna on Tuesday.

Appleton West's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Kimberly, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.

Everything came up roses for Kimberly against Appleton West in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, as the team secured a 75-22 win. In that game, the Papermakers amassed a halftime lead of 39-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
