Basketball Recap: Perry Meridian Comes Up Short

Perry Meridian played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the New Palestine Dragons and fell 74-39. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braydon Hohlt, who posted ten points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Hohlt a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezra Ceaser, who went 6 for 14 en route to 12 points.

Julius Gizzi was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards for New Palestine. Gizzi has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 21 times he's played. Ben Slagley was another key player, going 6 of 10 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven assists and three blocks.

Perry Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for New Palestine, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Coming up, Perry Meridian will welcome Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry Meridian is facing Indianapolis Lutheran at the right time seeing as Indianapolis Lutheran is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
