Basketball Recap: Avon Falls Short Against Ranked Noblesville

On Friday, Avon faced Noblesville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Avon Orioles fell just short of the Noblesville Millers by a score of 49-46. The Orioles haven't had much luck with the Millers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from DeAndre Lott-Hancock, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points and eight boards. Rashod Bethley was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Avon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

It was another big night for Baron Walker, who went 6-for-11 en route to 21 points and five rebounds for Noblesville. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Curry II, who posted 14 points and three blocks.

Avon's record is now 18-3. As for Noblesville, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
