Baseball Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Royals vs. Chesterton Trojans
Hamilton Southeastern took care of business in their home opener on Monday (barely). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Chesterton Trojans.
Josh Lesnieski looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (he also didn't allow any walks).
On the hitting side, Nolan Colbert was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Michael Hoog was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.
On Chesterton's side, Rob Czarniecki was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Hackett, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Hamilton Southeastern will face off against Henry County at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Henry County will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Hamilton Southeastern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chesterton, they will head out on the road to square off against Carmel at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
