Basketball Recap: University Lake/Trinity Academy Comes Up Short

University Lake/Trinity Academy lost against St. Anthony back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. University Lake/Trinity Academy received a blow as they fell 49-30 to the St. Anthony Roman Legion.

St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Ruvalcaba led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 20 rebounds and seven assists. Ruvalcaba is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Huerta, who posted seven points and four steals.

University Lake/Trinity Academy's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Anthony, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University Lake/Trinity Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cristo Rey Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for St. Anthony, they will venture away from home to square off against Catholic Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
