Softball Recap: Todd County Central Takes a Loss

Todd County Central was the 19-18 winner over Logan County when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels fell 6-2 to the Cougars on Tuesday.

Olivia Weikel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Dakotah Gammon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Merriweather, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Todd County Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Logan County, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Todd County Central will challenge Franklin-Simpson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Logan County, they will face off against Hart County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
