Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Cape Fear's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Cape Fear got themselves on the board against Seventy-First on Thursday, but Seventy-First never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Colts have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cape Fear got a massive performance out of Brycen Talley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Talley has posted since back in April of 2024. Chris Serbio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Cape Fear always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seventy-First only posted an OBP of .222.

Cape Fear has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Seventy-First, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
