Basketball Recap: Meyer Robb Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Mt. Vernon won the last time they faced Wood Memorial and things went their way on Friday too. The Mt. Vernon Wildcats managed a 56-50 win over the Wood Memorial Trojans.

Mt. Vernon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meyer Robb led the charge by going 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Hostetter, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and four steals.

Mt. Vernon's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-3. As for Wood Memorial, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Mt. Vernon and Gibson Southern will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Wood Memorial, they will be taking part in a tournament against North Posey at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
