Basketball Recap: Franklin Community Skates Past Whiteland with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Community). They blew past the Whiteland Warriors, posting a 79-41 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

It was another big night for Izzy Stillabower, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 22 points and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high. Journey Frederick was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals.

Franklin Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Whiteland still got an impressive performance from Sophia Dyer, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sarah Gilmour, who posted five points and ten boards.

Franklin Community pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 57.3 points this season. As for Whiteland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Franklin Community will host Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Whiteland, they will be taking part in a tournament against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
