Soccer Game Preview: Elgin vs. Kingfisher

The Elgin Owls will face off against the Kingfisher Yellowjackets at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Elgin will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Woodward last Friday. The Owls put the hurt on the Boomers with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering Elgin have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Kingfisher kept a clean sheet against Elk City two weeks ago. They blew past the Elks 4-0. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Kingfisher's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Elgin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matches. Kingfisher's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
