Soccer Game Preview: Seward vs. Northwest

Seward hasn't had much luck against Northwest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bluejays will look to defend their home pitch against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Seward has three straight victories, Northwest has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Seward headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for seven straight, but Lakeview let them put that streak behind them. The Bluejays never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. Give Seward's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northwest's offense. They fell 2-0 to Crete on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Northwest have lost by exactly two goals.

Seward's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
