Baseball Recap: North Catholic Comes Up Short

North Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Upper St. Clair on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6.

Evan Giuliani made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Beatrice, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

North Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Upper St. Clair, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat North Catholic by a score of 2-1 later that day.
