            Volleyball Recap: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. Smithfield-Selma Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            
Southeast Raleigh was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They fell  3-1 to the Smithfield-Selma Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-0  on September 4th.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 19-25, 25-16,  25-13.
 Smithfield-Selma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Karmen Cyrus, who  had 24  assists and three  aces. That's the most  assists  Cyrus has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was  Kaylie Gilyardi, who  had 16  kills.
Southeast Raleigh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Smithfield-Selma, their win  ended  a  nine-match drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 6-12.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming  contests. Southeast Raleigh will head out to  take on Cleveland  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Smithfield-Selma, they will venture away from home to  face off against Southern Wayne  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
