It was a good run, but Somerville unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Revere Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Somerville wouldn't go down easily and took Revere into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-11, 20-25, 15-10.

Somerville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Revere, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Somerville will host Bourne at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Revere, they will head out to take on Malden at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
