Basketball Game Preview: Mason Comets vs. Princeton Vikings

Mason hasn't had much luck against Princeton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mason Comets will face off against the Princeton Vikings at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Mason lost to Lakota West at home by a 55-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Firebirds are ranked 36th).

Fairfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Princeton proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 66-41 win. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Princeton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Mason, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-18.

Mason was dealt a bruising 71-42 defeat at the hands of Princeton when the teams last played back in January. Can Mason avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
