Volleyball Recap: Birdville's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Birdville dropped down to 11-5 on Saturday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mansfield Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in August of 2022.

Addison Iman paced Birdville's offense, picking up 14 kills. Iman got some help from Abbi Parr and her 17 assists. Maddie Duckworth controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Mansfield, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-28), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Natalie Peak was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven games. Darin Baldwin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Birdville has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Midlothian on the 23rd. As for Mansfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Brennan on the 23rd.
