Softball Recap: Deep Run Wildcats vs. Mechanicsville Mustangs

Deep Run hadn't done well against Mechanicsville recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 12 runs or more this season.

Hope Tate made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
