The Hartford Hurricanes will face off against the U-32 Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hartford will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Hartford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Bellows Falls, who was ranked 18th at the time (Hartford was ranked seventh). The Hurricanes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Terriers a 13-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Hurricanes have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alison Morlock was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emmy Whitney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Hartford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellows Falls only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and U-32 had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Middlebury by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday.
Megan Pittsley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, U-32 let Ava Batdorff and Mya Gould run wild. Batdorff went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Gould got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Gould is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Addison Coleman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
U-32's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Hartford, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hartford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like U-32 struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hartford beat U-32 12-7 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Hurricanes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
