Baseball Game Preview: Independence Wildcats vs. Choctaw County Chargers

For the second straight game, Independence will face off against Choctaw County. The Wildcats will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Independence heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Saturday. They lost 12-1 to Choctaw County. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Independence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dallas Stepp, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Stepp has hit this season.

Choctaw County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Independence, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-10.
