Football Recap: Bellingham Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bellingham lost against Archbishop Murphy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bayhawks were beaten by the Wildcats 61-28. While losing is never fun, the Bayhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Wildcats are ranked 42nd).

Despite the loss, Bellingham still got an impressive performance from Joe Harward, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Archbishop Murphy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henry Gabalis, who rushed for 41 yards and one TD, and also picked up 71 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Bellingham and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Archbishop Murphy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellingham will challenge Granite Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so the Bayhawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Archbishop Murphy, they will square off against Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
