Football Recap: Domonick Hirliman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Olean over Williamsville South

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Olean can now relate to. They lost 42-20 to the Williamsville South Billies on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Billies are ranked 199th).

Olean lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Domonick Hirliman, who rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown. He has become a key player for Olean: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dom Myers, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score.

Olean is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. As for Williamsville South, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

As of now, neither Olean nor the Billies have any future games scheduled.
