After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haslett, Detroit Country Day was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Groves Falcons with a sharp 81-60 win. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Groves saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harlem Simpson almost dropped a double-double with 41 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 68.3% of Groves' points, marking the eighth time in a row Simpson has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Detroit Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Groves, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Detroit Country Day will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marian at 5:30 p.m. As for Groves, they have already played their next matchup, a 48-43 win against Troy on the 14th.
