Volleyball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Comes Up Short

Bishop Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Monica Mariners, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since March 25, 2025.

While Bishop Montgomery ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-23.

Brody Bentzler was the offensive standout of the match as he had 25 assists and six digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Bishop Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Monica, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Montgomery will face off against Torrance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Monica, they will host Windward at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
