Basketball Recap: South Iron Comes Up Short

South Iron lost against Clearwater last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The South Iron Panthers were beaten by the Clearwater Fightin' Tigers 85-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked 451st).

South Iron's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Clearwater, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-10.

South Iron and Greenville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Clearwater, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Doniphan at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
