Baseball Recap: West Carroll War Eagles vs. Clarksburg Rockets
After flying high against Clarksburg last Monday, West Carroll came back down to earth. The West Carroll War Eagles took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarksburg Rockets on Tuesday. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rockets earlier this season, when they won 11-3.
Drake O'Bryan and Caleb Vermillion stepped up to the plate in a big way. O'Bryan scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Vermillion got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Those RBI were Vermillion's first of the season. Cole McMinn was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
