Baseball Recap: Eastside's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Eastside came into Wednesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knight Hawks a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 15-5 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Jimmy Munoz's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justyn Wade was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Ortiz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 4-17-1. As for Knight, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hawks beat Eastside by a score of 10-1 on Friday.
