Basketball Recap: Ford Gilliam's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Reed over Kuna

Reed was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-47 to the Kuna Kavemen. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly 17 points.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ford Gilliam, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Spencer, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and four blocks.

Reed now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Kuna, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reed and Bishop Manogue will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Miners have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Kuna will take on Middleton in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
