Volleyball Recap: Wapsie Valley Takes a Loss

Wapsie Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Ansgar Saints. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Taylor Buhr paced Wapsie Valley's offense, picking up four kills. Buhr got some help from Tessa Brunscheon and her seven assists. Kiley Schmitz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wapsie Valley's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for St. Ansgar, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Wapsie Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Central Springs on the 25th. St. Ansgar has also already played their next contest (against Janesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
