Softball Recap: Riverside Starts Season with Victory Against Princeton

Riverside had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Princeton Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

Shaylea Blackhurst made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Haylee Mullins was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Mia Davis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Coming up, Riverside will host St. Albans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Riverside's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Princeton, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
